Our new low energy daylight bulb provides excellent colour rendering, has a soft directional beam that allows you to focus on your work area for extended periods of time.

The lamp is separate from the lens and is designed so that the light comes in from the side under your hand, therefore not producing shadows on your work area.

The new daylight bulb gives approximately 50 watts of light but only consumes 11 watts of power. Due to it's low energy consumption and efficiency, it produces considereably less heat than conventional light bulbs.

These bulbs are also the same as those used in light boxes to treat sufferers of "S.A.D." (seasonal affective discorder) and may be of additional benefit to those who experience "the winter blues".

You will require a step-up transformer to use our daylight bulbs in the U.S. or other countries using 110 volt power supplies.

Clarity

Are you aware lenses vary greatly? The clarity of our 5 diopter magnifier is of prime importance. The clearer it is the longer you can work.

Our lens has supreme crystal clarity and there is absolutely no distortion across its entire surface.

Great care has been taken to provide the best quality lens we can find to protect your health. Poor lenses cause headaches and dizziness and induce eyestrain.

Size

The lens should be large enough to peer through comfortably with both eyes without the
edge entering your line of vision. You will find our high quality, large 5" (127mm) lens an
optimum size.  

Rims

You are best to work with a rimless lens. Distracting rims contribute to your eye fatigue. Besides creating a "dead" area around which to work, they diffuse your vision, thereby prematurely tiring your eyes.

Positioning

The positioning of angle poises and poor quality flexiarms can be extremely frustrating. You may have experienced the problem! Avoid this irritation with our long, exceedingly strong flexiarms which move freely but hold firmly in place.

Clamping

A strong clamp is particularly important to hold your light firmly in place. Our specially
designed extra-strong clip provides ample strength.

Portability

The clip-on models are designed to be light weight and portable, affording you great versatility in the home, the office or in the classroom. The flex is 3 metres long. Our acrylic lenses are protected by a toughened coating (to reduce scratching) and come with a protective cloth cover.
